Questions about exporting emails to PDF
Your emails never leave your computer.
How do I convert an email to PDF without printing?
Emails2PDF converts emails straight to PDF files without a print dialog or PDF printer: connect Outlook (or upload .pst, .ost, .mbox, .eml or .msg files), pick a folder, click Export.
Can I export a whole Outlook folder or mailbox to PDF?
Yes. Pick one folder or All folders, optionally a date range, and every email becomes its own PDF, numbered in date order.
Are attachments included?
Yes, as the original files, in a folder named after each email. Pictures that are part of a message are embedded in its PDF.
Are my emails uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs in your web browser and the files are written to your own computer. Our service only stores a one-way hash of the mailbox address and the plan; for pictures hosted on the internet it fetches the picture and passes it straight back without storing it.
Which mailboxes are supported?
Outlook, Microsoft 365 and Outlook.com by Microsoft sign-in; Outlook data files (.pst, .ost), saved Outlook emails (.msg) and .eml files; Gmail through a Google Takeout .mbox file. A direct Gmail sign-in is in Google's review.
Does it work on a Mac?
Yes. It runs in the browser on Windows, macOS and Linux. For very large mailboxes Chrome or Edge is recommended.
How many emails can it handle?
Tested on a 20,000-email, 3.7 GB mailbox. Outlook data files up to 1.5 GB are supported in this version.
Are the PDFs searchable?
Yes. They contain real text you can search, select and copy, not screenshots.
What is in the index spreadsheet?
One row per email: number, date, from, to, cc, subject, PDF file name, attachment count and names, message ID, source folder, size and any conversion notes. It comes as index.xlsx and index.csv.
What does it cost?
Free: the whole mailbox converted in your browser, the full index on screen and 5 PDFs per mailbox. Starter: $9 a month or $79 a year, 1,000 emails a month. Pro: $29 a month or $249 a year, unlimited emails and mailboxes, Bates numbering and a hash log.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Any plan can be refunded in full within 30 days of the charge, no questions asked, and you can cancel at any time.
Can I use it for court or discovery?
Yes. Pro adds Bates numbers on every page across the export and a SHA-256 hash log of every file. Check your court's rules or the agreed ESI protocol for the format required.
