Get your Gmail as an .mbox file (Google Takeout)

Your emails never leave your computer.

Google Takeout

  1. Go to takeout.google.com and sign in.
  2. Click Deselect all, then tick only Mail.
  3. Under Mail, choose All Mail data included or pick labels, then click Next step.
  4. Keep Export once and the .zip format, click Create export, and wait for Google's email (minutes to hours, depending on size).
  5. Download the archive and unzip it. Inside Takeout/Mail there is a file ending in .mbox.

Then

Open the tool, sign in with a Microsoft account (the plan belongs to that sign-in), use Upload a mailbox file instead and choose the .mbox file. Pick a date range if you only need part of it. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded.

Open the tool
